Enjoy today's warmer weather while you can — and be prepared for possible snow starting tonight and lingering into Saturday night.

That's the tentative forecast from Andy Kleinsasser, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Wichita.

"It could potentially be a fairly decent snowstorm across the area," Kleinsasser said.

The weather should warm to 60 to 65 degrees by this afternoon before things change dramatically. By around 4 p.m., a cold front from the northwest "will blast through," causing temperatures to fall to around 40 degrees by rush hour, he said.

Commuters also could encounter rain while going home.

Weather forecast models vary on the amount of snowfall; the biggest concentration is most likely late today and into Saturday morning.

It will be "cold, windy, and we should see some snow; the question is how much," Kleinsasser said.

Saturday's high temperature could be only about 32 degrees.
