The Emporia State women's basketball team advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Division II Tournament with a 76-45 rout of Northeastern State in the South Central Regional final at Canyon, Texas.
It is the fifth Elite Eight appearance in school history and the first for the Hornets since 2006.
Regional MVP and MIAA player of the year Cassondra Boston had 11 points, seven assists and five rebounds to lead four Emporia State players in double figures.
