Research Management, which manages and coordinates clinical trials in nephrology, has filed a lawsuit against its former chief operating officer.
The lawsuit alleges that Matthew R. Rush, who began work as COO on April 1, 2009, admitted when he resigned Dec. 4 that he had misappropriated funds from the Wichita company. An audit, the lawsuit says, showed the misappropriation amounted to $143,134.
Rush has been provided a copy of the audit but has refused to discuss it, the lawsuit says.
It asks for a judgment against him for "a sum in excess of $75,000."
Wichita nephrologist Dennis Ross is the founder of Research Management. It has sites in Nebraska, Texas and Oklahoma in addition to its headquarters in Wichita.
Neither Ross nor his attorney, Roger Sherwood, responded to calls for comments.
Rush could not be reached for comment.
