The fifth annual Pat Bash, which celebrates the legacy of late bluesman Pat McJimsey and raises money for the Performers Assistance Trust, will be Sunday at Margarita's Cantina, 3109 E. Douglas. Among the performers on the bill — Marc Westerman, Margarita's house band Lotus, Rachelle Coba, the Drake Macy Band and Jenny Detra and Good Cookin'. Doors open at 4:30 p.m., and music starts at 5. Admission is $10 at the door.
St. Practice Day party
St. Patrick's Day is on a Wednesday this year, but fans of green beer can still celebrate on a non-school night. Heroes at 117 N. Mosley is putting on a St. Practice Day party on Saturday night so that revelers can enjoy a dress rehearsal for the real March 17. Bar-goers are encouraged to wear St. Patrick's Day clothing, and specials will include $2.75 green beer, $4 Patty Bombs and $3 Nutty Irishmen.
Cajun tunes
The Acoustic Arts Association Winter Concert for March is on Thursday and will feature Cajun/Zydeco band The Mudbugs with opening act Medicine River Boys. The show starts at 7 p.m. at the Louise Murdock Theater, 536 N. Broadway. Doors open at 6 p.m. Admission is $10, and concessions including snacks, wine, beer and cocktails are available.
Doco at Kirby's
Raleigh, N.C.-based band Doco will perform a free show at 8 p.m. Monday at Kirby's Beer Store, 3227 E. 17th St. The band, which plays original funk/rock music, is on a cross-country summer tour and has played Kirby's three times before. For more information about the band, visit www.docotunes.com.
