WICHITA — A thief stole a boy's bike in west Wichita Wednesday afternoon, police said.
The theft occurred at about 3:45 p.m. Wednesday in the 3600 block of West 13th, police said. The 13-year-old boy was pushing his bicycle toward the front of the apartment building in which he lived when a man ran up, pushed him aside, grabbed the bike and threw it in the back of his pickup.
He then drove east on 13th. The boy told police that the suspect appeared to be 16 to 18 years old and was driving a pickup with a bright metallic red — almost orange — paint job.
The pickup has been seen frequently in the area of 13th and West recently, the boy told police, but police are still looking for the vehicle.
