Wichita magnet school application deadlines

The 2010-2011 magnet application forms for Wichita schools are available in all school offices, the Magnet Admissions Office at 201 N. Water and the district Web site, www.usd259.com.

All applications must be submitted directly to the Magnet Admissions Office either in person, by mail, by faxing it to 316-973-4725 or by e-mailing it to mnunn@usd259.net. Schools don't accept magnet applications.

Feb. 19 — Applications due for Northeast Magnet High Schools by 4:45 p.m. Students will receive notice by the week of March 15 on random selection results.

Feb. 25 — Applications due for elementary, middle and K-8 schools by 4:45 p.m. Parents will receive results of random selection by the middle of April.

Magnet applications will be accepted after the deadline, but students will be placed on a waiting list.

Parents will be contacted if a position becomes available at any of their magnet school choices.

If a student is not selected for any of their magnet school choices by Dec. 1, a new application must be submitted for the 2011-2012 school year. The waiting list does not carry over to the next school year.
