Oscar nominated films showing in Wichita

Eleven of the films nominated for major Academy Awards this week are showing now in the Wichita area.

Another seven are out on DVD (one of them will be released Tuesday.)

The Oscars will be presented on March 7.

Here is a guide to the movies now playing in Wichita and some of the nominations they received. See Pages 8-9 for theaters and showtimes.

"Avatar" —Nominated for best picture, director.

"The Blind Side" —Nominated for best picture, actress.

"Crazy Heart" —Nominated for best actor, supporting actress.

"Fantastic Mr. Fox" _Nominated for best animated picture.

"The Hurt Locker" _Nominated for best picture, director, actor, original screenplay.

"Invictus" —Nominated for best actor, supporting actor.

"The Lovely Bones" —Nominated for best supporting actor.

"The Princess and the Frog"— Nominated for best animated picture.

"Up in the Air" —Nominated for best picture, director, actor, supporting actress.

"The Young Victoria" —Nominated for best makeup, costume design.
