Boeing's white-collar workers will get an extra seven days of pay next month under the company's annual employee incentive plan.
About 114,000 non-executive employees will qualify companywide for the Feb. 18 payout, including some former employees who worked part of 2009 before retirement or layoff.
Roughly 1,900 people in Wichita will qualify for the payout, spokesman Jarrod Bartlett said.
The Employee Incentive Plan is set up to give 10 days of extra pay if the company meets internal profit targets set by management, and up to a potential 20 days of extra pay if the targets are exceeded.
Boeing missed the targets because of production glitches and delays to the 787 and 747-8 jet programs that resulted in $4.1 billion in charges against profits. Strong earnings in the final quarter compensated somewhat and raised the incentive plan payout above last year's figure.
Members of the engineering union participate in the EIP, but in contract negotiations in 2008 Boeing and the Machinists union failed to agree on including the blue-collar work force.
