1. Larkspur reopening: Larkspur, the downtown restaurant at 904 E. Douglas that was damaged by a fire on Jan. 15, reopened for business on Wednesday. Customers won't notice many changes in the dining room, but the kitchen area where the fire broke out was completely redone, managers said.

2. D'Sozo finally opening, The long-awaited vegan cafe and market (formerly known as Sprouts before a name reconsideration) is scheduled to open Monday at the new Tuscan Village development at 1812 S. Seneca.

3. Cinnamon's about to open: A new location of the local sandwich chain is set to open on Tuesday at 29th Street North and Maize. Mmmm... soup in a bread bowl.

QUICK BITES

Breakfast for dinner

The new Jimmy's Egg at 7906 E. Harry is testing some new hours that might be adopted in the other stores if they're a success. The restaurant that used to close at 2 p.m. is opening for dinner in the evenings, so its hours are 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 9 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. During dinner hours on Monday nights, the restaurant is offering a special for families: Children 12 and under pay whatever they weigh. For example, a 54-pound child would pay 54 cents. The restaurant will have a scale by the register. For more information, call 316-681-3447.

Latte to go at Dolci and Joes

As of Monday, Dolci and Joes, the neighborhood sandwich shop at 3425 E. Douglas, will be in the coffee business. The shop plans to open its drive-through from 6 to 11 a.m. to sell coffee, lattes, espressos and more. Owners hope to serve a few breakfast items in the near future as well. For more information, call 316-613-3515.
