Clooney shares 'Hope for Haiti' lineup

  • Published Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010, at 12:04 a.m.

George Clooney says the "Hope for Haiti" benefit for victims of the earthquake in Haiti will include performances from Bono, Sting, Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera and Alicia Keys .

Speaking to the Associated Press at the Golden Globes ceremony at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, Clooney said more than 40 celebrities are expected to attend Friday's event. The actor said the aim of the benefit is "to show the people of Haiti that the whole world is paying attention."

The benefit, which Clooney and Haitian-born singer Wyclef Jean will host, will be broadcast on more than a dozen broadcast and cable networks.

It will be held in New York, with CNN's Anderson Cooper chiming in from Haiti.

Golden weekend for Aniston

Jennifer Aniston was not short on male companionship — friends and former flames alike — over Golden Globes weekend, People.com reports.

The actress, 40, kicked off Friday night at a pre-Globes party at the Buffalo Club in Santa Monica, Calif. There, she ran into rumored former flame Bradley Cooper , with whom she shared a brief hug.

Aniston spent much of the evening chatting with Gerard Butler , her costar in "The Bounty Hunter," due out in March.

Aniston — all smiles and as bubbly as ever — spent quality time with Butler on Sunday night, too, as they attended the Golden Globes at the Beverly Hilton, joining David Arquette and Courteney Cox .

Staffers back Leno

Jay Leno staffers say their boss isn't the bad guy in NBC's late-night upheaval.

Leno has faced online chatter and some reports suggesting he's wresting "Tonight" from Conan O'Brien .

"The network asked him to make a compromise.

"He's being a good soldier, and he's being trashed," said producer Jack Coen, who has worked with Leno for 14 years.

He added that there isn't any truth to the suggestion that Leno forced the issue to get back on "The Tonight Show."

Tracie Fiss, a co-producer who has worked with Leno for 18 years, said her reaction to such characterizations is "frustration."

"Jay doesn't have the power to make these decisions. The decisions are made by NBC," she said.
