THUNDER In THE HEARTLAND

Twelve-year-old Brian Stockebrand went to the Great Plains Nature Center with his dad, Greg, hoping for some good photography opportunities. He found this gadwall on perfectly still water.
NEVER TOO EARLY TO FISH
Andrea Hilyard and her husband, Andy, left their campsite early one morning at Woodson State Fishing Lake to watch the sun come up when they saw these two fishermen. ŇIt was all just all so right and I had my camera right there,Ó she said.

Benjamin Tillotson brought his photography gear along when he came from Kearney, Neb., to visit his grandparents in Wichita over the Christmas holidays. He and his brother, Michael, got many good shots including this one of a mature bird shortly after it flushed from a tree.
