Cleveland State: The last time Kansas State won eight straight games, Rutgers ended the Wildcats' run with a 76-66 victory in 2004. The coach of that Rutgers squad was Gary Waters, who currently coaches Cleveland State. The Vikings' 4-9 record is not impressive, but they have come close to scoring a handful of big wins when they gave Virginia, Ohio State and West Virginia tough games.
Kansas State: Frank Martin is happy with his team's 11-1 start, but believes it needs to rebound better before the start of conference play. Junior center Curtis Kelly leads the team with 6.4 boards per game.... Aside from Kelly experiencing a minor airport delay in Chicago, Martin said his players had no problems getting back to campus following their holiday break.
