After all this time of legal concealed carry, where are all the Wild West shoot-em-ups the gun grabbers claimed would happen?

If the headline is right that former KU Coach Mark Mangino's future is murky, I think the same applies for a school and an athletic director, who turned changing coaches into a witch hunt.

There are dozens of ticket brokers scalping Taylor Swift tickets on eBay. Appalling, isn't it? May their greed destroy them.

I love all the complaining about the arena downtown. Obviously no one in this town has been to a big city before. I lived in Indianapolis for five years, and you had to park blocks away from the stadium and walk. You also had to pay for parking. I went to the Indy 500 and had to walk two miles in the rain and you know what? There were vendors on the side of the road selling rain ponchos. It just goes to show how lazy the people of Kansas are.

I was recently involved in an car accident with a deer. I think the state of Kansas should pay my deductible since this state is overpopulated with deer. Extend the hunting season.

I didn't realize the Catholic Church owned The Wichita Eagle until I saw Sunday's newspaper. However, since the Catholic Church already owns the "Monument to Money" on East 21st Street, I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

Martina McBride and Trace Adkins put on a marvelous show on Friday. Bonus: Plenty of parking, unlike at the arena downtown. These country-western singers bring in the crowd. I love being a redneck.

When will the Wichita Fire Department update its Web pages to reflect the new fire stations and loss of squad units at the various stations?

If you use community recycling, do everyone a favor. Smash your milk jugs, 2-liter and water bottles. It doubles the capacity of the site.

I thought we were under budget restraints. Again this year, salt solutions are being spread across bridges and ramps two to four days in advance of possible snow or ice, effecting vehicles and further deteriorating roads. Is this a quota problem or do we need some common sense?
