The Kansas Veterans' Cemetery in Winfield will participate in Saturday's Wreaths Across America ceremony.
During the ceremony, wreaths are presented in memory of veterans in each branch of service, the Merchant Marines and POW/MIAs. After the ceremony, individual wreaths will be placed on the 380 graves at the cemetery. The ceremony will be conducted by the Emerald City Composite Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol.
The event begins at 11 a.m. The cemetery is located at 1208 N. College St. in Winfield.
Wreaths Across America began nearly 20 years ago when the Worcester Wreath Co. from Harrington, Maine, began placing wreaths on headstones at Arlington National Cemetery during the holidays. The effort has expanded to more than 400 national and state veterans' cemeteries.
