Freshman stay put

Kansas freshmen Thomas Robinson and Elijah Johnson played just one and four minutes on Sunday against UCLA in their first road games.

In the first half, Robinson had a chance for a dunk but couldn't convert. KU coach Bill Self removed him from the game and did not play him again.

"Thomas didn't get a chance to play much," Self said. "He had a dunk, it slipped (out of) his hand because he tried to dunk with one hand as opposed to two. Elijah played four minutes. I thought he did OK when he was in there."

Worth noting

With KU's win and Oklahoma's win over Arizona the Big 12 holds an 8-2 lead over the Pac-10 in the Big 12/Pac-10 Hardwood Series. The final game, Oklahoma State at Stanford, is Dec. 16.
