South Carolina-Upstate: The Spartans are in their third season as an NCAA Division I school. Formerly known as South Carolina-Spartanburg, it won the NAIA title in 1982. The Spartans are coming off a 78-56 win over Stetson in its Atlantic Sun opener. Chavis scored 18 points and Schneiders added 17. Upstate averages 57.5 points. Nebraska (76-49), Winthrop (49-46) and Miami (70-41) held it under 50 points.

Wichita State: Four Shockers didn’t miss a free throw in Thursday’s 74-43 win over Texas Southern — Durley, Hannah and Garrett Stutz each made four. David Kyles made two. Hannah is 9 for 10 from the line this season. Durley is 17 of 19. WSU’s 6-1 start is its best since the 2006-07 team went 9-0 before losing.
