Past winners of The Eagle's popular Holiday Pet Photo Contest have included a dog in a snowman suit, a Chinese water dragon in a Santa hat and last year's first-place winner, Frodo, a kitten perched in a Christmas tree.
Will your photo be this year's winner?
Amateur photographers are invited to capture their cats, dogs, birds, horses or other pets in the holiday spirit and send the photos to The Eagle by Dec. 11. You can also e-mail them to petphotos@wichitaeagle.com or post them on WichitaPaws.com by Dec. 14.
The top three winners, chosen by a panel of judges, will receive gift certificates to a pet store: $50 for first place, $20 for second and $10 for third. One or more pets can be in the photo, but no people. Only one entry per household is permitted.
The winning photos and runners-up will be published Dec. 26 and Jan. 2 in The Eagle.
There are three ways to enter:
* E-mail your photo to petphotos@wichitaeagle.com. You must put "Holiday Pet Photo Contest" in the subject line and include your name and a daytime phone number.
* Post your photo on WichitaPaws.com. Go to www.WichitaPaws.com and register, if you haven't already. From your profile, create a blog and post the photo in the blog. Type "holidaypets" in the tag line. And be sure your profile is not private, or we won't be able to see the photo.
* Mail your photo to the address below. Include your name and a daytime phone number, and a stamped, self-addressed envelope if you want your photo returned.
