Police unveil 'theft victim's packet'

WICHITA _ Wichita police have unveiled a packet of information aimed at helping victims of identity theft get their financial affairs back in order.

The "theft victim's packet" is available online at www.wichita.gov/CityOffices/Police/ offers a step-by-step guide on what to do if someone has had credit card, Social Security numbers or bank information stolen.

Capt. Darrell Atteberry said the packet has proven so effective that law enforcement agencies around the country have asked to use it as well.
