Police seize guns after man shoots his television


Wichita police were called to the 2100 block of North Parkridge Court on Saturday after a couple's dispute involved gunfire.

The woman reported that her husband shot their television five times with a handgun, according to Sgt. Bart Brunscheen, spokesman for the Wichita Police Department.

The incident happened at 9:45 p.m. No injuries were reported.

Police are investigating the incident and confiscated additional guns from the home after the man made suicidal statements.

Police: Fight over beer escalates to stabbing

A fight over beer Saturday night reportedly resulted in one man's stabbing and another's being taken into custody.

Wichita police are investigating the fight that happened shortly after 10 p.m. in the 2400 block of South Hillside.

The 20-year old victim was stabbed in the abdomen and was taken in critical condition by EMS personnel to Wesley Medical Center.

Although a suspect fled the scene, police were able to take the man into custody later that night.
