An Andover woman was killed Friday in a head-on crash on U.S. 50 in Stafford County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol said Joann R. Romine, 68, was driving east in a Ford minivan when it collided with a westbound pickup driven by Robert A. Smith, 47, of Isabel shortly after 1 p.m.
Smith was flown by LifeWatch helicopter to Via Christi-St. Francis in Wichita for treatment of serious injuries, the Highway Patrol said. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
