Two more H1N1 deaths reported

Two more Kansans have died of H1N1-related causes, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment said today.

KDHE said a total of 21 people in Kansas have now died after being infected with H1N1.

It gave these details of the latest deaths:

* A 44-year-old man from the Kansas City metropolitan area whose death was reported Friday was confirmed to have H1N1 on Nov. 10. He had underlying health conditions that placed him at greater risk for severe complications of influenza.

* A 35-year-old man from northeast Kansas whose death also was reported Friday was confirmed to have pandemic H1N1 on Oct. 12. The man did not have underlying health conditions that placed him at greater risk for severe complications.
