Why can't the employer pay the employee enough money so he can buy his insurance? Then he can pick and choose. And if he doesn't get insurance, that's his fault. Pay him what he's worth.

Obama supporters argue that the terrorists should be tried in civilian court in New York City, because the Sept. 11 attacks occurred there and were against civilians. Even dumb Bush supporters realize that the Pentagon is a military installation located in Washington, D.C.

The Associated Press news service has scrambled to fact-check and dissect Sarah Palin's new book. When will the AP fact-check Al Gore's book?

If just the ability to draw a crowd qualifies Palin as a presidential candidate, that makes the "Star Trek" and "Twilight" actors equally qualified. She's an interesting woman, that's all — not someone we should want to lead our country.

We can vote for Palin for president in 2012, since the world is supposed to come to an end anyway.

I hope Jerry Moran beats the pants off Todd Tiahrt. We have had enough of Tiahrt. Let him work full time for his lobbyist friends.

I thought the stories of coaches Bill Snyder and Mark Mangino in Thursday's Eagle were an interesting contrast. Whom would you rather have your son play for?

If several of KU's players feel their coach has embarrassed them, maybe they should consider how their performance has embarrassed their fans.

Please do not shop on Thanksgiving. I urge you to take a stand for families — both yours and the employees who have to work. Just spend one simple day with your loved ones and resist the greedy retailers.
