WICHITA — AT&T has bolstered its area wireless service network, adding new cell sites near Newton and McPherson and adding wireless service in Hutchinson.
The additional cell sites are part of AT&T's more than $625 million capital expansion for wireless and wireline services in Kansas that it kicked off in 2006.
The wireless expansion has brought service for the first time to Hutchinson as well, said AT&T spokeswoman Marisa Giller.
Officials are also hosting a ribbon cutting today of AT&T's first wireless retail store in Hutchinson, at 1504 E. 17th.
The store is owned and operated by Communications Connection, an authorized retailer.
