KU women rally past Iowa

IOWA CITY, Iowa — Danielle McCray scored 20 points and No. 19 Kansas used a late 11-0 run to beat Iowa 66-55 on Wednesday night.

McCray missed nine of her first 10 shots and had five points at the break. However, the 5-foot-11 senior made several key baskets in the second half for the Jayhawks (2-0).

All five Kansas starters scored in double figures with Aishah Sutherland finishing with 12 points, Krysten Boogaard 11, Sade Morris 10 and Angel Goodrich 10.

Kachine Alexander had 23 points and 17 rebounds to lead Iowa (2-1).

Trailing 54-51 with 7 minutes to go, Kansas scored 11 straights to gain control. McCray, who led the Big 12 in scoring last season, hit a big three-pointer during the run to put the Jayhawks up four. Goodrich followed with a pair of buckets.
