WICHITA -- LSI Corp.' s Engenio data storage division, which is partly based in Wichita, recently supplied storage systems for two scientific agencies.

Twenty-three Engenio 7900 HPC storage systems will be installed at the U.S. Department of Energy's National Energy Research Scientific Computing Center as part of a next-generation Cray supercomputing system.

LSI also said that Meteo France, the French national weather forecasting agency, upgraded its supercomputers with storage based on the Engenio 7900. The agency collects large volumes of meteorological data about Earth's oceans, atmosphere and snow cover, for weather, marine and pollution forecasting.
