Wichita Clinic has set up a temporary flu shot station and, beginning today, will offer seasonal flu shots to anyone and H1N1 flu shots to those in the Sedgwick County Health Department's priority groups.
The flu shot station will be at the Wichita Clinic's main location, 3311 E. Murdock. Appointments aren't required, and those getting shots do not need to be Wichita Clinic patients.
It will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today through Friday and Monday through Nov. 25. Insurance will be filed.
The seasonal flu shot is $34 for the injectable vaccine and $50.75 for the nasal spray.
The H1N1 flu vaccine will have a $19.75 administrative fee for either version. The federal government is providing the vaccine free, but health care providers may charge an administrative fee. That fee isn't charged at the health department's H1N1 clinic, at 4031 E. Harry.
The H1N1 vaccine is restricted to health care and EMS workers, pregnant women, those 6 months through 24 years old, caregivers of those less than 6 months old, and people 25 through 64 who have chronic medical conditions that compromise their immune systems.
Both vaccines can be received at the same time so long as both are not the nasal spray version.
