Memphis: The Tigers, playing their first game under first-year head coach Josh Pastner, defeated Jackson State 82-53 on Friday. Memphis returns just one starter and six letter-winners from last year's team, which lost to Missouri in the Sweet 16. Memphis' top player, Wesley Witherspoon, is a skilled big man who could give the Jayhawks some matchup problems.

Kansas: The Jayhawks whipped Hofstra 101-65 in their season opener on Friday night. Kansas got some good news on Monday when redshirt freshman guard C.J. Henry was cleared to play full speed after battling a swollen right knee the past few weeks. Self and C.J. both said they were unsure whether he would play tonight.
