TCU (10-0) remained behind Florida, Alabama and Texas on Sunday in the BCS standings and the race to the national title game.
TCU, from the Mountain West Conference, last week became the first team from a league without an automatic BCS bid to break into the top five of the standings this late in a season.
* The KCAC put two teams in the NAIA playoffs on Sunday, with No. 5 Ottawa (10-0) receiving the league's automatic bid and No. 12 McPherson (9-1) getting an at-large bid, the first playoff appearance for the Bulldogs in school history.
Both games will be Saturday as Ottawa will host No. 13 Hastings (Neb.) and McPherson travels to Olathe to play No. 8 MidAmerica Nazarene.
VOLLEYBALL
Emporia State will travel to Warrensburg, Mo., to play in the NCAA Division II South Central Regional, where the Hornets will be the No. 4 seed and take on No. 5 seed Pittsburg State on Thursday in the opening round. Washburn received the No. 2 seed and will face Nebraska-Omaha. Host school Central Missouri, the MIAA regular-season champion, will open against Heartland Conference champion Dallas Baptist.
BASKETBALL
The Newman women lost to Rockhurst 59-42 at Kansas City, Mo., despite an 18-point, 11-rebound performance from freshman Melissa Brockleman in the first regular season game of her career.
