Danny Granger scored 29 points and Dahntay Jones added a season-high 25, helping the Pacers defeat the Boston Celtics 113-104.... LeBron James' three-point play with 28 seconds remaining lifted the Cleveland Cavaliers, playing without Shaquille O'Neal, to a 107-103 victory against the Utah Jazz. O'Neal has a strained shoulder.... Dwyane Wade's three-pointer with 0.1 seconds left gave the Miami Heat an 81-80 victory over the undermanned and winless New Jersey Nets

* James Stewart led the Hutchinson Community College men with 16 points in a 90-33 win over East Oklahoma State. Joe Mitchell and Dylan Frantz added 12 points apiece.

* Heather Robben scored 18 points and Ariella McGhee added 15 points and 13 rebounds as the Hutchinson women defeated Labette County 79-51.

VOLLEYBALL

Karina Garlington led Kansas with a match-high 19 kills, while sophomore Allison Mayfield chipped in with 16 to help lead the Jayhawks to a 3-1 upset over No. 21 Baylor at Lawrence, 25-18, 19-25, 25-20 and 25-20. It was Kansas' first win over a top 25 team since 2007.

* Arica Shepard led No. 9 Emporia State with 12 kills and 19 digs — her 12th straight double-double — as the Hornets rolled to a 25-21, 24-15, 25-15 win over Fort Hays State in their regular-season finale.

* Friends defeated Bethel College 12-25, 25-17, 21-25, 25-16, 15-9 in the championship game of the KCAC tournament at Hillsboro.

Golf

Gregory Bourdy of France shot a bogey-free 7-under 63 on Saturday to take the lead heading into the final round of the $2.5 million Hong Kong Open.

* George McNeill closed with a double-bogey, allowing three others to share the lead heading into the final round of the Children's Miracle Network Classic at Disney World. Justin Leonard, Justin Rose and Mathias Gronberg were also tied atop the leaderboard.

Soccer

In its first warmup match for next year's World Cup, the United States was missing key starters and lacked sharpness in a 1-0 loss to host Slovakia. Marek Hamsik converted a penalty kick in the 26th minute after Austrian referee Stefan Messner called defender Jonathan Bornstein for pushing Vladimir Weiss — the son of Slovakia's coach — in the penalty area.

* Diego Maradona faces a FIFA disciplinary panel today in Zurich that could ban the Argentine coach from games at next year's World Cup because of his expletive-filled rant. His outburst, aimed at the Argentine media, came during a news conference last month after his team clinched a spot in the World Cup in South Africa.

SWIMMING

Michael Phelps finished fifth in the 200-meter butterfly final at a short-course World Cup meet in Berlin. Nikolay Skvortsov of Russia, who had the fastest qualifying time, won the final in 1:50.58. Phelps is competing in an old-style swimsuit that will become the standard Jan. 1.

Tennis

Novak Djokovic reached the final of the Paris Masters for the first time by overpowering Rafael Nadal 6-2, 6-3. The 22-year-old Serb will face Gael Monfils of France today. He advanced to the final with a 6-4, 5-7, 6-4 win over Radek Stepanek.

ROWING

Wichita State teams won the varsity mixed eight, with a time of 3:06.15 and took second place with a time of 3:20.03 at the Marathon Rowing Championship in Natchitoches, La.

The novice mixed eight also won first place, at 3:20.32, setting a course record for a novice team in this event.

The Wichita Rowing Association placed first in mixed doubles 3:33.57, also setting a course record.

Cross Country

The Wichita State women finished sixth at the NCAA Midwest Regional in Springfield, Mo. Junior Tonya Nero was the Shockers' top finisher, placing 15th after covering the 6,000-meter course in 21 minutes, 15.6 seconds. Angela Bizzarri of Illinois won the race in 20:07.5. Kansas senior Lauren Bonds of Hutchinson was fifth in 20:49.1; K-State's Beverly Ramos was sixth in 20:55.9. Bonds and Ramos both qualified for the national meet Nov. 23. K-State was ninth and KU 10th in the 14-team field.

WSU's Marius Sava was the state's top men's finisher in the 8k race, placing 34th in 31:56.3.
