Future watches present

Future K-State players Will Spradling and Nino Williams were seated behind the Wildcat bench on Friday. Spradling, of Shawnee Mission South, has signed with K- State and Williams, of Leavenworth, is waiting to do so next season. He will attend prep school next year.

Both guards from the Kansas City area said they were excited about joining the program.

“I like Coach Martin’s style of play,” Spradling said. “K-State plays hard-nose, tough defense.æ.æ.æ. I just really like the environment here, too. Coach makes it seem like this team is a family.”

“He’s always pushing his players to be their best,” Leavenworth’s Williams said. “I like the team atmosphere here. It’s something I want to be a part of.”

K-State officials said Shane Southwell, another recruit from New York, sent his national letter of intent to the Wildcats on Friday.
