Hearing for day-care worker accused of drunk driving continued

WICHITA — The Municipal Court appearance for a former Wichita day-care worker accused of driving seven children while she was drunk has been continued to Dec. 9.

Margaret E. (Walker) Self, 49, of Derby was charged Oct. 27 with driving under the influence — second offense; DUI with children under 14; no driver's license; driving on a suspended license; and not having a child under 4 in a child restraint.

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment suspended the license of Self's day care, Creative Connections Learning Center, 11818 W. Central.
