Six individuals or organizations are being honored today by the Greater Wichita Association of Fundraising Professionals Chapter.
The group's annual luncheon will begin at 11:45 a.m. in celebration of National Philanthropy Day.
Those being honored are 2009 Outstanding Foundation, John S. & James L. Knight Foundation; 2009 Outstanding Corporation, Cox Communications; 2009 President's Award, Bishop Emeritus Eugene Gerber; 2009 Outstanding Volunteer Fundraisers, Jon and Kelly Callen; 2009 Outstanding Philanthropist, Mike Michaelis, Emprise Bank; and 2009 Outstanding Fundraising Executive, Linda Merrill-Parman, Envision.
National Philanthropy Day acknowledges the services provided by the nonprofit community and recognizes the impact that philanthropy has on society.
