Health care reform: It saves lives and it saves money. Good idea.

Well, Congress almost held health care under a trillion dollars. It is nice to see that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is bringing the same bankrupting policies they have used in California to Washington, D.C. Last year's elections were a perfect storm leading to the financial disaster we face today.

Any health bill that the GOP offers up is bound to be good for the insurance industry and not so good for the average citizen. That's just the way Republicans are.

While my health insurance company just lowered my lifetime maximum benefit to $500,000 and I am fighting cancer, my neighbor on Medicare gets his Viagra filled for free on the taxpayers' dime. Isn't America great?

With regard to the proposed consolidation of school districts to save money: Would it not make more sense to consolidate the larger schools in proximity to one another, with their many administrators and support staff, rather than to combine several smaller schools located far apart, each with an administration of only one or two people?
