WATC avionic program wins national certification

WICHITA -- The avionics program at Wichita Area Technical College has been accredited nationally.

Only 13 programs have been certified by the National Center for Aircraft Technician, according to the college.

The accreditation is key for the college's graduates, said avionics instructor Billy McDaniel, an engineer with Garmin International.

The accreditation tells prospective employers in Wichita and across the country that the program is meets high standards, he said.
