What is going through President Obama's head? Why is he dragging his feet on sending troops to Afghanistan? I guess he doesn't have a son or daughter fighting there.

If the rate on your credit card goes up, it has nothing to do with Obama. That's called a free market.

Obama wants to cut the pay of CEOs who underperform. I don't hear him talking of cutting his own pay.

* * *

Recent national polls show that only 20 percent of Americans admit to being Republican. In Kansas, I consider everyone a Republican until he convinces me otherwise.

Some say they can't afford health care, but they sure seem to be able to afford beer and cigarettes.

What's the big deal with the attack on Fox News? The Democrats' agenda is so much more important than freedom of speech.

Fox News is as factual as the Martian baby story in the National Enquirer.

Too bad the police don't nail these drivers who won't turn on their lights during poor visibility times. It might save some lives. Certain colors can barely be seen by other drivers.

Citizens of Wichita: Whenever you see a police officer commit a traffic violation — turning into the wrong lane, driving in the rain without lights on, etc. —report the car's number to the mayor.

I have often wondered how stage actors are able to perform the same show day after day, year after year, until I saw "Wicked." They have the pleasure of giving each audience a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and Marcie Dodd as Elphaba in "Defying Gravity" absolutely did me in.

There are far too many people in this town who do not understand the meaning of "keep out." Would someone please provide me with a dumbed-down text that will work? I tried "No trespassing, private drive," but that is too complex for many people. I value my privacy, and many around here will not respect it.
