WICHITA — An autopsy was conducted today on the 15-month-old boy who was pronounced dead Wednesday afternoon from injuries police have said resulted from abuse.

The 25-year-old live-in boyfriend of Evan Coen's mother has been arrested in connection with the case. Investigators expect to present evidence to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's Office on Monday, police Capt. Brent Allred said.

Evan was transported by ambulance to Wesley Medical Center late Monday night from his home in the 6500 block of West Renee Court, near Maple and Ridge Road.

He was placed on life support and pronounced dead shortly before 4 p.m. Wednesday. Doctors told police he had suffered multiple skull fractures, as well as other injuries that occurred at different times.

His body was kept on life support after he died so that his organs could be donated to several other severely ill children.
