Business economists predict that jobs won't bounce back for three years. President Obama says we are on the upswing. Is that only in his mind? I guess if he said it, it must be true.

With extreme lack of decisions like this in the White House, we'd have lost World War II. Who helps Obama with his socks each day?

I would prefer that Congress not send out more money to the elderly. It's just spending more of our grandkids' future. Last year's cost-of-living allowance for Social Security was double the previous year's. Now the Democrats want to pander to the old folks with this $250 reward. I say "no" to any money this year.

Where can a person live anymore without feeling like a trapped rat?

KU was robbed Saturday. Offensive interference? What the heck is that? It was a clean catch and clear touchdown. Now a 6-0 start and a possible Heisman nomination for Todd Reesing is down the toilet. Officials, give me a break.

There have been countless letters to the editor from people in other states who have taken the time to stop and explore Kansas, and almost all have been pleasantly surprised by what they found. The person from Wisconsin was in too big of a hurry to see for herself ("Toll not worth it," Oct. 16 Letters to the Editor). Her loss.
