GARRETT FRESH

Fresh, 34, called it a "dream come true" after the Greteman Group promoted him to senior art director recently. Over the years, there has been lots of mutual admiration between the agency and Fresh, who started as an intern while studying graphic design at Wichita State.

"That was a pretty remarkable opportunity for me," Fresh said. "It was a pretty life-altering opportunity."

Fresh has worked on a wide range of branded marketing materials for several clients, producing Web sites, direct mail, trade show signage, annual reports and billboards.

"He has the ability to conceive the big concept and then to see it through to its final, meticulous conclusion," said Sonia Greteman, the agency's president.

Fresh said one of his strengths is advertising that incorporates environmental graphics. An example of this is the monument he helped create on Old Town Plaza, which highlights the district's rich history.

"I've lived here all my life, and just uncovering these fun little gems about Wichita is really sweet," Fresh said. "The Old Town district is a social hub. Learning about the history of those buildings was really fantastic."

Opportunities to collaborate with masons, sign painters and sculptors are enticing to Fresh.

"Graphic design with print, while you can do a lot of neat things, it doesn't have a long shelf life," Fresh said. "Something that's made out of brick, metal and concrete, it's going to be around a while. It's fun to walk around and see that."
