WICHITA — A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a 2007 homicide, Wichita police said.

Officers were serving a narcotics search warrant on a house in the 1700 block of North Old Manor on Tuesday when they came across the suspect.

He was wanted in connection with the shooting death of 22-year-old Mario Lewis outside a residence in the 1400 block of North Holyoke on Nov. 16, 2007.

Witnesses told police that one man chased another from a house party across the street from Victory Temple Church of God in Christ, 1457 N. Holyoke.

Police said Lewis was shot once in the upper torso and collapsed on the sidewalk as he ran west of the church at the southwest corner of 14th and Holyoke. He died later at Wesley Medical Center.

The shooting was gang-related, police said at the time.
