WICHITA — A 32-year-old Wichita woman has died from a head injury she suffered after being thrown from a horse Sunday afternoon, authorities said.

Morgan Gentry was pronounced dead at Via Christi Regional Medical Center-St. Francis Campus on Sunday evening, Sedgwick County Sheriff's Capt. George Mason said.

A witness reported that Gentry was thrown from her horse as she was riding just before 12:30 p.m. on 117th Street North, just east of 151st Street West, north of Bentley.

She was unconscious and unresponsive when deputies and emergency medical personnel arrived, Mason said, and was flown to St. Francis by air ambulance.
