You would never know it by running your eyes along the sleek flanks of Bob Kennedy's 1962 Impala SS, but the sides of the car looked like `a sack of potatoes' when he brought the car home 2-1/2 years ago. Dave Betthauser straightened out the sheetmetal, which was drenched in multiple coats of Roman Red single-stage urethane paint by Bright Built Hot Rods in Salina.

Kennedy retained the stock two-spoke Impala steering wheel, adding the appropriate 700-R shift indicator. The SS also got a vintage column-mounted tachometer and a set of Stewart-Warner under-dash gauges.
