New show

"Ruby & the Rockits"

David Cassidy of "Partridge Family" fame stars in this new sitcom, another family affair, but it's his real family this time. He plays a rocker from the 1980s who has continued his hard-partying ways. When he learns he has a daughter (Alexa Vega), he seeks help from his brother and band mate-turned-family man (Patrick Cassidy, David's half brother) in giving her a proper upbringing. A third Cassidy brother, Shaun, is the show's executive producer. 7:30 p.m., ABC Family, Channel 47.

Kelli works on her singing career by meeting with a prominent voice coach; Jessie works on the benefit for Operation Smile; and PC's photography internship lands him in front of the camera and out of his shirt. 8 p.m., Bravo, Channel 61.

Documentary series

"P.O.V."

Filmmaker Ellen Kuras made her directing debut with "The Betrayal (Nerakhoon)," a harrowing, Oscar-nominated account of how her co-director, Thavisouk Phrasavath, and his family escaped from Laos during the Vietnam War. Their arrival in their new home, however, forced them to face a different kind of war. 9 p.m., PBS and KPTS, Channel 8.
