Hot days >

Now that we have had our first 100-degree day of the year in Wichita, the question arises: What is the average number of 100-degree days in a year? Here in the Air Capital, the average is 10.5 days of 100 or above (let's round that up to 11 days.) The most 100-degree days in a year was the 50 times that it occurred in 1936, followed by 1980 with 46. There are still 13 record-high temperatures in the month of July from 1980.
