Tiller funeral to be at 10 a.m. Saturday

The funeral for slain Wichita abortion doctor George Tiller will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at College Hill United Methodist Church, 2930 E. First St.

The service is open to the public, said Dan Monnat, Tiller's lawyer and a spokesman for the family.

A close friend of Tiller's, the Rev. George Gardner, was pastor of College Hill UMC for many years -- including during the "Summer of Mercy" abortion protests in 1991 -- and also served as chaplain at Tiller's clinic, Women's Health Care Services.
