This was one of the more inspiring photos we received from readers, showing dozens of 1920s and 1930s vintage cars parked in a field for some type of event, location unknown. Jeanne Marie Neuroth brought an envelope full of old unidentified photos to the Eagle office and told us we could have them, as she had no further information on them.

Gene Tipton was just a little guy when his parents posed with him next to their car in 1933. Gene says he's not sure exactly what make and model the car was, but guesses it was a 1926-28 Whippet, Oakland or Overland. We're guessing Overland.

Marion Renner of Haysville supplied this memorabilia shot showing her father, Charles Talley, a salesman at the McClellan Chevrolet dealership in Zurich in the 1930s. Among the mementoes in the display case is the watch he won for selling the most cars.

Ted and Clara Hall, who will celebrate their 75th wedding anniversary in Wichita this spring, are pictured beside a 1927 Star automobile in this photo snapped on a trip to Oklahoma in 1932. The couple were neighbors at the time, according to Francene Sharp, who shared this photo with Wheels readers.

Hub Harness says these overlapping photos were shot by E.H. Sayre on Douglas Ave., near where Century II now stands. Mike Behrendt arranged to have as many 1940 Ford hot rods as possible line up, although a couple of Mercuries and a '32 Ford made the scene in 1964. Among those identified in the photos were Max Dyer, John Belford, Art and Hub Harness, Jimmy Miller, Larry Ashley, John Miller, Oscar Becker, Behrendt, and John Pinon.

Warren Kime provided this great photo and the following information: `My motorcycle riding uncle was Fred Endicott from Pittsburg, Ks. He was called to duty in May of 1918 and reported to and served at Fort Funston, Ks. A little research shows the fort was built in or on the land at Fort Riley, Ks. I believe as a result of the outbreak of World War I. I'm not sure how many years he served.'

Don Duryea sent us this shot of a dapper young man and his stylish V-8 Ford. `Here is my favorite old picture of my Dad. It was taken in 1939 with his 1933 Ford. His name is Raymond Duryea and it was taken outside Douglass, Ks., right before he went into the Army.'

Nancy Evans offered this dramatic photo of what appears to be an old Ford sedan trying to outrun a dust storm. She wrote: `I found the old family picture ... with the car and the dust storm. It was taken somewhere around Amarillo, Texas, where my great uncle Chester Miller was working in the 1930's.'

Alfred Dick bought this white-over-turquoise '57 Chevy four door sedan in 1959. He said the car had so much power that he had to be careful not to burn rubber away from every stop sign. He also used it to haul a washing machine home in the trunk after he removed the deck lid.

Pictured here is Milt Helvey in a photo believed to have been shot in south central Nebraska circa 1917. Mike Schroeder said Milt was his grandfather and worked as a mechanic at a Dodge/Plymouth dealership well into the 1960s, so the car very well may have been an early Dodge Brothers model.

Susan Hoppe submitted this great vintage photo of a 1914 Apperson Jack Rabbit showing a very young Frank Carlson (later a Kansas governor and U.S. senator) at the wheel, alongside his father. Susan's grandmother was one of the back seat passengers in the photograph, which was published in the Concordia Kansan newspaper.
