People can donate money for Greensburg tornado disaster relief on Friday during opening-day activities of the Wichita River Festival.

Money will be collected during the noon hour, throughout the afternoon and during the AT&T Sundown Parade from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at the festival's information booth in the Boeing Wichita Credit Union Food Court outside Century II.

Also, volunteers from AT&T will collect money at the West Bank Stage before the concert by Daughtry on Friday night.

"Everybody wants to help," said Janet Wright, director of the Wichita River Festival. "Since the festival is such a great gathering place, this is a great way to gather funds quickly. It is very important that we help out however we can."

Only money donations will be collected on Friday. Donations will then be given to the American Red Cross and earmarked only for relief projects for Greensburg residents.
