The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development today announced a range of disaster assistance for Kiowa County and Greensburg. HUD is:

• Enforcing a 90-day moratorium on foreclosures and forbearance on foreclosures of FHA-insured homes.

• Offering federally guaranteed loans to state and local governments for housing rehabilitation, economic development and repair of public infrastructure.

• Offering FHA insurance to those who have lost their homes. FHA borrowers are eligible for 100 percent financing, including closing costs.

• Enabling those who have lost their homes to finance the purchase or refinancing of a house along with its repair through a single mortgage.

• Identifying vacant HUD-owned properties that can be used as temporary housing for those forced from their homes.
