Kansas Highway Patrol officers are investigating a two-vehicle accident today that left two people dead.
The accident happened shortly before 6:30 p.m. at K-42 and 135th Street West.
According to the Highway Patrol, Georgia Peter, 19, of Wichita, was eastbound on K-42 when she crossed the center line and struck a westbound vehicle driven by Rita Seifert, 53, of Bluff City, head on.
Both drivers died. There were no passengers.
K-42 was closed for several hours after the accident.
