Faculty meeting or departmental presentation
This is a mini-workshop that gives an overview of the resources, services and activities that are available through The Wichita Eagle.
Introduction to using your newspaper
This workshop is geared to basic, hands-on experiences of using the newspaper in the classroom. We start with newspaper etiquette and then focus on how to teach with the paper. (One to three hours)
Using the newspaper with primary students
This workshop is designed for kindergarten through 3rd grade teachers and focuses primarily on reading and writing skills as well as on whole language/integrated instruction. (One to three hours)
Using the newspaper with intermediate/middle students
This workshop is designed for 4th through 6th grade teachers. Curriculum areas are science, English, math and social studies. (One to three hours)
High school workshops
We can tailor this workshop to a particular subject area such as Language Arts, Math, Science or Social Studies.
